Houston Zoo!

Houston Zoo Fun!

Having a little one you always try to find ways to entertain them! This week we agreed on the Houston Zoo! An amazing experience full of animals and frozen lemonade. Going on a weekday was defiantly a great choice, it was not packed and their happened to be a nice breeze!

First, we started at the little kid’s aquarium called Kipp Aquarium at the beginning by the entrance. We took a voyage under the sea. The aquarium was filled with coral reefs from the Pacific, the Amazon Basin, and the rift Valley lakes of Africa. We saw Dory, Nemo, jelly fish, seahorses, and many other sea animals. Next, we saw the sea lion show! The water was so clear we could see every little turn, tricks, and spin perfectly. It was so peaceful and nice, this was defiantly a great entrance into the zoo.

We enjoyed viewing all the animals and stopped by the elephant exhibit for an exciting show. We were to view the elephant getting a bath at the elephant barn. The elephants loved the water and it was a beauty to see them at their natural habitat. On May 2017, the zoo completed doubling the size of the elephant pen.  Along with doubling the exhibit the zoo added a 16,00-gallon tank and a 7,000 squeeze-foot barn that was custom made for the elephants! They added this expansion to help endangered elephants as an effort to save them.

The zoo was filled with many different types of monkeys, zebras, giraffes, lions, tigers, wolves, and anything else you can think of. I was shocked at the amount of things they had available for the price. The price is 19.95 for anyone over the age of 2. With this amazing deal how can you not want to go? Let me know of any exciting zoo adventures you had!

Blue Hawaiian Cocktail

Blue Hawaiian Cocktail

Happy Sunday to everyone! Here is a recipe to a blue Hawaiian cocktail to hopefully add a little “fun” to your Sunday. The first time I ever tried this drink was on a date at the bowling alley and WOW what a surprise of taste! I was so shocked at how good it was I ordered a second one. I decided it was time for me to learn how bring out the bartender in me and make this drink.

This imagine is your desired look! Sometimes looks can be everything, and after you try a sip of this you will see what I mean.

The first step is to combine the Coconut Rum, pineapple juice, cream of coconut and 1 cup crushed ice in a blender then crank that blender up on high and get everything is nice and smooth. Then you will want to pour into a nice sized cup then add the pineapple slice and the cherry!

This imagine is your desired look! Sometimes looks can be everything, and after you try a sip of this you will see what I mean.

This drink would be great for any occasions especially hanging out around the beach on summer time! Let me know if you tried this drink what your thoughts are on it!

Remember drink responsibly!

Ingredients:

1 Fluid ounce Light Coconut Rum

 2 Fluid ounce Pineapple Juice

1 Fluid ounce Cream of Coconut

1 Bright Red Cherry

Bouncing Bots!

Bouncing Bots was a blast to play. My little friends seven-year-old grandson could participate with bouncing the bots onto the scoring targets. What started out as a normal game soon escalated quickly into laughter and Bots bouncing everywhere. After one time playing this became my friends grandsons favorite game. He now pulls it out of its place in the afternoon when he comes over and we sit down and enjoy our family and friend time with this game. Bouncing Bots has brought out laughter and fun for us in the evening and has brought our friend and family together to spend quality time together. This is a game I would highly recommend for any family with children.

The game is based off of a point system. You receive points by bouncing it on the numbers on the board. Whoever has the most points at the end wins so you want to try to bounce on the highest number values to receive the most points. This game was invented by Joseph M. Bulcuk had a degree in mathematics. He created this game as an educational learning tool. He coupled with his experience teaching and his mathematics skill, which allowed him to make a unique game which encourages the children and adults to have a good time while teaching the kids. It helps with social development, mathematics, and tons of other skills a child is inspired to learn. This game contains eight creative bot characters (which the purple ones are my favorite), two platforms to bounce the bots on and a list of instructions to help understand how the game is played. This game is for 1-4 players and ages even through adulthood can play. I strongly you to encourage on game night to bring out this game, you will not be disappointed. .

Creating an Ultra-Productive Work Environment

Creating an Ultra-Productive Work Environment

To reach your maximum potential, both from a productivity and creativity standpoint, you need to set yourself up for success. You need to take the steps necessary to ensure you have an adequate workspace, where you feel comfortable and yet remain alert and focused. Fostering an environment where you can achieve peak results in a timely fashion can be difficult, but if done in simple, digestible steps, it will help you work far more efficiently.

Here are some steps to help you create an ultra-productive work environment:

Separate yourself from distractions. Likely the single most important aspect of creating an ultra-productive work environment is to make sure distractions do not bombard you. If you work from home, create an area where the noise and excitement of the family do not overwhelm your concentration. Try to remove the wares of household duties by scheduling a time to focus on those homemaking tasks and a separate time to tackle work-related issues.

Be mindful of the room temperature. Surprisingly science confirms that room temperature has a lot to do with productivity. According to this article in Fast Company,

“….Cornell University researchers conducted a study that involved tinkering with the thermostat of an insurance office. When temperatures were low (68 degrees, to be precise), employees committed 44% more errors and were less than half as productive as when temperatures were warm (a cozy 77 degrees). Cold employees weren’t just uncomfortable, they were distracted. The drop in performance was costing employers 10% more per hour, per employee.”

Be mindful of the temperatures in your workspace and if you are able, adjust them accordingly. If you work in a common or open environment, consider keeping a sweater or jacket handy for chilly occasions but also a small desk fan for times when the temperature rises.

Create an ambiance for creativity. Design an area where you not only feel comfortable but also inspired and productive. Try listening to music and encouraging podcasts and adding imagery which motivates you. Consider purchasing headphones, so you do not distract any nearby coworkers. Refreshing musical playlist from one genre to another will also help keep your mind active and alert.

Stunning visual and soothing music is are great ways to spark creativity.

Have all the necessary equipment. Nothing is as distracting to productivity than needing to stop what you are doing to find or fix a piece of necessary equipment. Whether it is a printer, a phone, or even a mechanical pencil if you need it to work and you waste time on maintenance for your materials you are backpedaling on critical timelines. Run updates for your computer each evening, when you are not working and schedule regular maintenance visits for any larger mechanical pieces of equipment. This principle also holds true to the physical premises as well. Keeping your heat and air conditioning units running smoothly, walls and floors in sufficient condition and furniture well maintained are all just as important as having a functioning computer.

Maximize your breaks. Having a reprieve away from your desk or workspace is essential to your overall productivity. You need to have the ability to step away and grab a snack or drink, quickly exercise, rest, or release your mind from the stress of the day, then when you return you can dial in and find a healthy and effective groove.

Streamline your workflow. There is an old cliché which says, “work smarter not harder.” If you are to have an ultra-productive work environment, it is essential to maximize your efforts, and you can do this by streamlining your work. Mainly, you need to work with a purpose. An effectively managed schedule and task list help to keep you on task and on time when you are working on an important project, big or small.

Brian Leach understands the importance of synchronizing schedules and maximizing efficiencies in the workplace which is why he is the man who conceptualized and invented Steelray Microsoft Project Viewer. Microsoft Project Viewer is the industry-leading tool for team members needing to view Microsoft Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) or Primavera P6 schedules – it is an enhancement to those software solutions, not an all-out replacement. Microsoft Project Viewer is a software solution for Project Managers, and it helps them keep all aspects of a job on track. Project Managers who utilize Microsoft Project Viewer are more likely to keep deliverables on task, on time, and within budget.

Microsoft Project Viewer offers enhanced printing and viewing capabilities, and when implemented, it is a cost saving option in comparison to relying solely on Microsoft PPM.
