The thing that pretty much all of you are going to be terrible at. Budgeting is just not easy, but the more you try it, the more you’ll realise that have a plan with your money laid out for you is so much better than just going through the month, spending as you go, and hoping that you still have enough money to last you the last two weeks of the month. But budgeting isn’t second nature to the majority of us, so something we’re going to need a push in the right direction to make sure our money is set out right, and we’re making some savings along the way. Well, here is your push in the right direction. First of all, write down your total monthly pay. Then write out all of your bills and deduct them. The write down how much fuel, parking for work, or essentials you’re going to need each week. We’re talking your food shop and things like that, not essentials such as a meal deal from McDonald’s. Once you’ve got absolutely everything out of the way with that you usually spend each week and month, you should be left with a lump sum of money that is yours to spend. Wrong, it’s not yours to spend, it’s yours to use wisely. Divide the total by four as there are four weeks of the month. You should be left with more than enough for the weeks. So, take a chunk of that off, making sure that you leave yourself enough to live comfortably. That chunk needs to go straight into your savings account. You should have left yourself enough money to be able to enjoy yourself, so that you’re not dipping into your savings account each week!

Couponing is fun, but it can be taken to an extreme. There have been reports that it can actually become and addiction, but let’s not focus on the negative side of it. Couponing is actually really fun when you get into it, and the rewards you’ll feel when you know you’re saving yourself a ton of money each month will be more than worth the effort. Because it can also be a big effort. It used to be more so that you would get coupons out of magazines and newspapers, and they could easily be used in the stores. But nowadays, people are shopping more on the internet than they are in stores, so it’s actually so much easier to find coupons through the internet! You can easily get a coupon code and use it at most major online stores, saving you an absolute fortune when you shop. We know most of you won’t have been interested in this before, you’ll just simply make the payments when it comes to checking out. So, if you don’t use it at all at the minute, try your hand at a bit of couponing, and let us know how much you end up saving each month!

Locked Savings Accounts

Are you someone has an open savings account, actively puts money across into it, and takes it back out again the next week? Welcome to the club if you do. We’re all so bad at managing our savings accounts because they’re just so easy to access and take from. And when money is getting pretty tight, the first thing you’re going to reach to is all that money that you conveniently put away. It allows you to spend as you want still, and doesn’t give you any restrictions or control on your spending habits. So, we want you to think about setting up a locked savings account. It will be so much more beneficial for you to have a locked one in the long run. All you have to do is make sure you’re not putting too much aside each month. If you ever need to call on the money, you won’t be able to! The savings accounts usually have rules. A minimum deposit to set up the account, a minimum monthly deposit agreement, and you’ll only be able to make a certain amount of withdrawals a year. These rules are what make it so effective!

Self Control

Self control is the last thing that you need to try and master. Self control is something we all have very little of, which is one of the reasons why you’re reading this article! The more money we have, the more tempted we are to actually spend it. So, rather than thinking of the money that you can spend all of the time, take some time to think of the money that you can save. If you get yourself in the right mindset, and find a way to learn some self control when it comes to things such as shopping, you should have no problem with saving money in life!

Tired of Your Home? It Might Just Need Some TLC

Everything is exciting when we first move into a house. And how could it not be? It’s new territory, a relatively blank canvas with which to create a home in our design. But it’s not long before boredom begins to settle in. It might be a year, or two, or five, but eventually we look around at our home, and we’re just not all that excited by what we say anymore. So what options do you have, move away? Let’s not do anything drastic. The answer may just lie in making a few changes to refresh the look and feel of the home. Below, we show you how to do it.

Rearrange the Furniture

Our minds want to take in new information, but there’s only so much your home can do on this front. You’ve bought your furniture, and over time, your eyes just slowly get used to it. You don’t even see the room anymore: you’re doing everything on autopilot! But there is a simple way you freshen up the home, and in fact, it only takes an hour. Rearrange the furniture! It’ll jolt your mind into looking at your home anew again. A new perspective – which you’ll get from your new couch position – will mix things up enough to keep things interesting.

Change the Decor

If you’re committed to keeping your furniture in the same place, or you don’t have any other choice other than to keep them where they are, then get out the paintbrush and change the color of the walls. The intensity of paint fades over time, which can make the room look and feel dated. By giving the walls a lick of paint, you’ll be bringing them back to life and thrusting some energy into your home.

Transform the Important Spaces

If you’re really getting bored of your home, then some paint of the walls might not cut it. You’ll be looking for a greater transformation. But of course, it’s unlikely that you’ll have the budget or capacity to transform every inch of your home. So instead, focus on the most important rooms. A bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen remodeling project will breathe new life into your home. These are the spaces you spend the most time, the areas of the house that have the biggest impact on the overall feel of your home. Take care of them, and you’ll be back in love with your house in no time.

Add Works of Art

Works of art and decoration are an underrated aspect of the home. Not enough people make the most of them! But they should, because they’re highly effective ways to freshen up a space. When you walk into a room, your eyes won’t be drawn to the familiar, the things that are functional but uninspiring, but a work of art that you’ve selected. There are some rules for buying art for the home, but the most important tip is to find a work of art that’s unique. Cheap, mass-produced copies just don’t look all that good.

How To Give Your Home A Facelift

Believe it or not, homes age just like we do, and no matter how much we pay for one initially, there comes a time where little improvements and repairs need to be made if you want it to carry on living and looking great while doing so. When you get to this stage, it can be rather difficult trying to figure out what to do, because your home isn’t able to tell you what it needs. This is why you need to carry out your own inspections and investigate what areas need a little nip and tuck.

You may find that there aren’t any major problems at all, and all you need to do is clean up a bit and maybe repaint the living room, but you won’t fully know until you take the time out to have a good look around.

There are so many options out there, you just need to think of what will work best for the circumstances that you’re in. But if you’re not sure, then here are a few ideas to put you in the right direction.

Create more space

Sometimes you will find that what was once a rather spacious room, has ended up feeling cramped. This could be because you’ve had an addition within the household, or merely just appears different over time. Whatever it may be, there is no reason that you can’t have some home additions made. This can be anything from knocking down some existing walls to make the area open plan, to adding a whole new extension onto the side of your home. So have a talk with a professional and see what options you have.

Add some nature

Plants are such a lovely way of bringing some life into a home. Some people refrain from doing this because they think they’ll need too much maintenance in order to thrive, but there are plenty of plants that barely need touching and yet last for months, if not years. Bringing in some greenery not only looks (and smells) good, but it also balances the humidity in the air, all while providing you with more oxygen, so it’s a win-win situation.

Bring in some art

Art comes in so many different forms, and that’s what makes it such a diverse and wonderful gift. You can get an extravagant painting to hang on that bare wall in the hallway, or maybe even a sculpture to stand in the centre of your dining room – there really is so much to choose from. If you’re feeling creative, you can even try your hand at creating a piece of art yourself. This will not only look cool, but you’ll rake in the compliments whenever you have a guest round who asks about that intriguing new art.

Now you have a few ideas, you can start thinking about how you can implement them into your own home. Never be afraid to be bold and unique, as that only adds flare and personality to your humble abode.

Ask People You Know

The people you know may be able to give you more insight into what you think you’d be good at. Ask your friends and family and see what they say. Some people also like to go for psychic readings, although this is entirely down to the individual and their beliefs.

Think Of The Times You Feel The Most Alive

Think back to all of the times that you have felt the most alive. Was it when you were writing an amazing story or blog post? When you were helping somebody with their relationship issues? When you were strutting your stuff down a catwalk?
